Chiropractic is the most natural way to both restore and maintain health.
The results are remarkable!

“Chiropractic is the most natural way to both restore and maintain health. When nerves experience interference, your body cannot perform at its optimal level. Chiropractors adjust the spine to remove this interference.”

Dr. Catherine Toplansky, D.C.
Loudoun Chiropractic

If you suffer from any of the following, seeing a chiropractor may help:

Neck pain Osteoporosis
Headaches Whiplash
Lower back pain Pinched nerves
Leg pain/sciatica Sports injuries
Shoulder/arm pain Auto injuries
Disc problems Work injuries
Numbness Carpal tunnel
Tingling Stress related pain

Chiropractic treatment is not a traditional “cure,” but rather a means to help the body to cure itself by restoring the correct alignment of the spine. It has become the largest drugless healthcare profession in the world and has helped millions of people.

The chiropractic model of health is centered on the philosophy that the human body, being knit together in a wonderful way, will heal itself given the right opportunity and circumstances.

Compared to traditional medical treatment, Chiropractic:

  • Is more effective and longer lasting
  • Has a higher rate of patient satisfaction
  • Has less risk of side effects

What to expect on your first visits:

Consultation: Doctors of Chiropractic are interested in trying to completely understand your health condition. You will be asked questions related to how your condition started, what are the symptoms and what makes your symptoms better or worse.

Physical Examination: This will follow your consultation by the Chiropractor. This may or may not lead to services such as x-rays, blood work or other diagnostic testing.

Report of Findings: Upon completion of the physical examination an assessment of your condition will be given to you in what is known as a Report of Findings (R.O.F.). During the ROF the doctor will discuss your diagnosis and your treatment plan, including the number and duration of visits.

When do you need a chiropractor?

"The purpose of the chiropractic approach to healthcare (the wellness model) is to uncover the cause of your health condition, not merely cover up your symptoms. The absence of symptoms (pain) does not equal good heath! The clearest way to illustrate this is by reviewing the statistics on heart attacks. Research reveals that in approximately 33% of all heart attacks the first symptom of the attack is death!

"Wellness care encompasses several aspects of overall health, which can be physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.”

Stress
Stress has been with us since the beginning of time. Today, the stress of careers, deadlines, conflicts, and the demands on our time and money, take a huge toll on our health.

Just as a chain tends to break at its weakest link, we seem to exhibit stress and strain in the weakest areas of our bodies. For some it is an upset stomach. For others, recurring headaches, back pain or muscle stiffness. Still others respond with nervous twitches, allergic reactions, or sensitivities to chemicals.

It may not be possible to remove the stress from a busy life. However, with the help of your chiropractic doctor, you can respond better to the unique challenges you face.

7 Ways to Chase Away Stress
  1. To help relax, take deep breaths, pray or meditate. Relaxation lowers blood pressure, respiration, releases muscle tension.
  2. Keeping a sense of humor during difficult situations is an effective mechanism for stress management.
  3. Try to find exciting, challenging, and satisfying forms of exercise that are convenient. For example, brisk walking or swimming.
  4. Leave work on time and try not to bring work home. Keeping a separation between your professional and personal life is essential to managing stress.
  5. Lower demands you put on yourself. Make realistic goals that give you the opportunity to succeed.
  6. Take care of taxing tasks in the morning to get them out of the way.
  7. Look at large projects as a series of steps to complete one by one.
